It was a pretty uneventful day. We stopped at the NC Welcome Center to use the facilities and make some sandwiches for lunch. Traffic wasn't bad even though there was road work going on everywhere - between construction and grass cutters. After driving some more we had dinner at Zaxby's, which wasn't the cheapest but pretty tasty. Total miles for today were 578 miles and we ended up in Cherokee, NC. We found a hotel called Great Smokies Inn. It's an interesting little town and it's like a step back in time with all of the ancient drink machines and claw arcade games. Tomorrow we will check out Smoky Mountain National Park and then hit the road again. You can follow along with us at Dustin and Jessica's Excellent Adventure.

Day 1
Day 1 is in the books!
