Day2

Day 2 was an interesting one. We drove 409.2 miles today. Word of the day is RAIN....

We left the hotel and headed to the Smokey Mountain National Park.

The park was awesome. The roads were insane. The top speed was like 35mph but you sometimes couldn't reach that because they were so curvy and winding.  But the views were amazing.  We ended our park Journey at the Tennessee side visitor center where we made some sandwiches for lunch.

 Then we hit the road.

We ran into some crazy rain storms that were off and one for a couple of hours.  Luckily no drama.
We stopped in Nashville at Hard Rock for dinner.  We searched around for parking and found a lot with an open spot. That when one of the most awesome things happened. We were waiting for the machine to get a ticket for the parking. The lady in front of us seemed to be buying a few spots for her crew, she then turned to me and said  "what spot are you in?" Strange question but I told her 21.  She turned back to the machine and pulled a ticket out. Then turned again and said "I want to buy you a ticket what was that number again?" I was kinda taken back, and wondering is she was for real. I told her 21 again, and said she didn't have to do that not knowing again if she was for real. She said she wanted to and handed me the parking slip. I was floored at her generosity and didn't know what to say but thank you. Parking for 4 hours in this lot was $21.00, that was an insanely nice gesture.  I wish I would have thought to ask her name or really anything about her.  Maybe one day I will be able to do a thing like that.

Tomorrow is more driving.. You can follow our journey at Dustin and Jessica's Excellent Adventure.

I almost forgot this is a historic day for me. It is the first time in my life I have been out of the EST time zone.
